Letter from Nona

Dear Neighbor,

I’m Nona Tobin, a proud Sun City Anthem resident since 2004, and a former Board member elected with over 2,000 votes. My professional background in municipal management and dispute resolution uniquely qualifies me to serve our community effectively. My vision for Sun City Anthem centers on three crucial pillars.

First, Board accountability and fiscal responsibility. I pledge to be a fiscally responsible voice, particularly by enhancing volunteer opportunities rather than unnecessarily defaulting to paid staff and contractor solutions.

Second, community fitness. I'm committed to enhancing SCA’s health and wellness programs. I propose free access to unlimited group exercise classes and partnership with Silver Sneakers to fund our instructors. By establishing a dedicated fitness committee, we can expand offerings to include specialized classes that address the critical needs of aging active adults, from injury prevention to maintaining strength and balance as we age.

Third, transparency. I stand firmly against closed Board meetings unless required by our bylaws. Every homeowner deserves access to HOA documents and a voice in community decisions. This isn't just policy - it's personal.

In 2014, I experienced firsthand the devastating consequences of opaque management when our former managing agent secretly sold my inherited property without notice, selling it for a fraction of its market value.

My experience, including my unjust removal from the Board in 2017, has only strengthened my resolve to be your advocate and challenge any actions that compromise our community's interests or disrupt the peaceful enjoyment of our homes.

I love Sun City Anthem, and with your support, I'll work tirelessly to make it an even better place to call home.
